Slow Roll Moves Detroit, You Move Slow Roll; its time to put that to work. In 2017 we conducted 23 rides from the East Side to the West Side, the North Side, and all the places in between. This year we moved in all the right ways, we moved hearts, attitudes, people, and wheels. We registered over 10,000 members, people got on bikes with us almost 100,000 times, and with your support, we’ll move even more in 2018.

Next year Slow Roll will partner with nearly 50 Detroit Non-Profit Organizations to build awareness and invite our riders to step into active community service in Detroit. This little bike ride that has done so much is about to do so much more. But first there are bills to pay and budgets to meet. We’ve always made the ride free to those who couldn’t pay, but producing Slow Roll is far from free. Example: Police services in 2017 cost the organization over $70,000; we value their support, and we are happy to support those who protect our great city. Now add insurance, ambulances, porta-potties, general office overhead – well, you get it, an average weekley cost of $4-$5,000 adds up quick.

During this season of giving please give what you can, because every bit helps, so hit that donate button and encourage your network to do the same.

Detroit Bike City, inc. organizes Slow Roll and is a designated 501(c)(3) organization, your contributions are tax-deductible as permitted by law. Our most recent IRS form 990 is available for inspection here.

Thanks for riding with us. We’ll see you in 2018!
